At the Legal Times' blog, Tony Mauro reports on a recent study conducted by the Congressional Research Service on the record of Judge Sotomayor.  The report, which examines her rulings on the U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, found that her decisions reflected a largely moderate record on the bench.  According to the report, "...the most consistent characteristic of Judge Sotomayor's approach as an appellate judge has been an adherence to the doctrine of stare decisis.... Other characteristics appear to include...a careful application of particular facts at issue in a case and a dislike for...[the judiciary] overstepping its judicial role."
