Bush, Though Not Campaigning, Delivers a Message to Voters: ‘Judges Matter’

Article reports that although President George Bush "is not campaigning," he told members of the Federalist Society that "[t]he lesson is clear: Judges matter to every American." Legal experts agree that Bush "has had a profound impact on the judiciary, reshaping it with a conservative tilt," however, both Democrats and Republicans say "that it will take another vacancy - to be filled, presumably, by the next president - to either seal or undo that legacy." President Bush "steered clear of mentioning [Senator John] McCain (R-AZ) or the presidential race, but made the link implicitly saying, "[t]he selection and confirmation of good judges should be a high priority for every American."
