Article reports that a former Arizona Court of Appeals law clerk and a current court employee are suing two judges on the Arizona Court of Appeals for civil rights violations. Regina Pangerl alleged that Judge Susan Ehrlich discriminated against her because she is Mormon. In October 2004, while Ms. Pangerl was clerking for Judge Ehrlich, the judge reportedly ranted about Mormons for 15 minutes. Later, when she learned that Ms. Pangerl was Mormon, the judge allegedly interrogated the clerk about her religion and began questioning the quality of her work, intimidating Ms. Pangerl into quitting. Ms. Pangerl also filed a suit against Chief Judge Sheldon Weisberg, alleging intimidation and a cover up of the investigation into Judge Ehrlich_s behavior. In a second suit court employee Luz Hellman accused Judge Weisberg of intimidation and retaliation against her leak of documents relating to Ms. Pangerl_s case.
