Bibliographic Info:
On November 7, 2006, LSC published an updated regulation prohibiting discrimination based on disability. The rule had not been updated since it was first adopted in 1979. The new version changes references from handicapped persons to persons with disabilities and adds information about compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Additionally, the new rule contains enforcement language regarding how LSC will investigate complaints of non-compliance with the updated regulation. The rule, which will go into effect on December 7, 2006, is available at: http://www.lsc.gov/pdfs/1624FinalRuleFRNotice.PDF.
