The Brennan Center, along with a coalition of allied groups, supports the bill because it provides critical grant funding for programs aimed at increasing the successful reintegration of individuals returning from federal and state prisons and jails back into their communities. It funds the criminal justice system in more effective ways by investing in programs that provide education, workforce training, and public safety programs.
